On March 31, 2020, Google is shutting down the multiplayer component of their Play Games Services. Because X-Plane Mobile on Android depends on Google Play for multiplayer, Android users will no longer be able to do multiplayer flights as of that date.
We are hard at work on an all new multiplayer experience for both Android & iOS. Where the existing networking is limited to 2 players, we’re working on a global, massively multiplayer world that will support flying with thousands of other players simultaneously.
We had hoped to have massive multiplayer ready to launch before the Google Play shutdown so that we could avoid a loss of functionality for Android users, but unfortunately it won’t be ready for some months yet.
