Tom Connors comes to me with the following reputation:
He does the lightest-weight paint-job in aviation.
This guy is spending MONTHS sanding and prepping 844X. He is going to such CRAZY level of preparation for paint that when it comes time to paint, he will only spray on the thinnest hint of paint to get the desired design, without an extra drop of filler or primer. This, along with the carbon-fiber airframe, light-weight turbine engine, and minimal wiring and ducting thanks to very careful design with modern modular computers, has 844X running amazingly light for a 320-knot, 850-hp, 168-gallon, pressurized 4-seater.
