Google "Lancair Evolution" and look carefully at the tail. See how it looks like the tail of a P-51? Here, with the RDD-designed tail-mod, this Evolution really looks like a Lancair! All we did is put a carbon-fiber shell over the existing tail... very very simple and only a few pounds since carbon fiber is so light. So, with this simple faring, we have a plane that really LOOKS like a Lancair! Initial flight-test indicates that there is additional rudder authority as well, but I suspect that those improvements are fairly minor.
The gray is primer, which will get sanded down later and make a nice base coat for the paint, which on my bird will be a mixture of pearly white and metallic beige with a metallic dark gray and a deep midnight black which will be a VERY weird combination, I think.
